BM2K/Defiant FAQ Page

FAQ stands for frequently asked questions. This page is mostly for people who need info. on the Bushmaster 2000 and Bob Long Defiant paintball markers. If you think there is something that needs to be on the FAQ page but already isn't, E mail and I will put it up. Lets get the most info. on the gun answered now so we won't have to do it later over and over again.

Q. What are the differences betwen the Bushmaster and the Defiant?

Answer:     Mostly cosmetic. The Defiant takes Autococker barrels, has different milling (new BM2K come with Tear Drop milling), and nice and Anodizing available in splashes, fades, marbles, and solid colors. That is about it. The internals are the same for both guns and they are both produced by Indian Creek Designs

Q. How do I know if I have a new ram?

Answer:     The newer rams have a small little nub on the end that actuates the valve. This is supposed to hold the valve open for a little bit longer. All the newer Bushmasters and Defiants come with the new rams. If yours doesn't have a newer one and you would like one, contact ICD and they will provide you with one for free.

Q. What type of barrel threads does the Bushmaster use?

Answer:     The Bushmaster 2000 uses standard Indian Creek barrel threads found throughout their other markers such as the Alleycat, Desert Fox, Puma, etc. The Defiant uses autococker threaded barrels. If you would prefer to get a Bushmaster with Autocoker threads, there are adaptors out there from LAPCO and Timberwolf Paintball can re-thread your gun to take them for around $45.

Q. What are the stock barrels like on the Bushmaster and the Defiant?

Answer:     The Bushmaster 2000 comes with a 12" step honed aluminum barrel that is actually very quiet and accurate for a stock barrel. The Defiant on the other hand comes with a very nice 2 piece, half stainless, half aluminum barrel. It also comes with a set of 1-3 ball sizers. The barrel is anodized to match your gun as well. Very good stock barrels on these guns.

Q. What different firing modes can the Bushmaster and the Defiant shoot in?

Answer:     There are four modes of firing to the gun. Semi-auto, 3 shot burst, 6 shot burst, full auto. All rate of fire is set to 9 balls per second (BPS) except in semi-auto where it is limited to 13 BPS. There are now Turbo boards available to raise your rate of fire available from Bob Long and Timberwolf Paintball (see info in the mods section).

Q. Can I use a Pre-set nitro tank on my gun?

Answer:     The answer is Yes. ICD recommends and input of about 350-500 psi. A pre-set may not be as effiecent on gas and may put a little bit more wear and tear on the gun but it can be used.

Q. How do I install a new valve in my gun?

Answer:     Here are the instructions I send out with every Wet Worx valve I sell. They are pretty detailed and you shouldn't have any trouble. If you do still have problems or are confused about about something in the instructions just E mail me and we will get it working.
